Worship Sharing

Peace & Social Concerns Committee has recently conducted a survey on our Meeting's “Response/Responsibility to Help End the War in Iraq,” seeking to bring to light all our efforts in working for peace in Iraq and in promoting healing, reconciliation and justice regarding the tragic consequences our war and occupation have caused at home and abroad.   At the worship sharing on September 21 st, as we hold in the Light especially the people of Iraq and our own country, we will seek to enlarge and deepen our sense of how we might draw on the Spirit to face these challenges, take action, and have hope for a better future.

I.D.P. Vigil

Following a half hour of nutritious refreshment and socializing, AFM will observe the United Nations International Day of Peace. Our commitment for this year to the UN IDP Vigil, now in its seventh year, is to have a vigil from 2- 4 pm in the Meeting Room. The Annapolis area community is invited to join Friends for any or all of the 2 hours in prayerful silent meditation/reflection for world peace. During the vigil, participants are invited to share a short reading or personal story, as they are led, related to peace in the world. Please consider bringing a friend with you from the community at large during this 2-4 pm vigil. For further information, see our commitment on the IDP website, www.idpvigil.org.
